A City of History
For a town with such an emphasis on history, the city of Washington, D.C. seems to be neglecting its own history. The Washington Post reports today on the decrepit state of the D.C. archives. The archives rest in a deteriorating building that has no heat or air conditioning; its so bad that some members of its advisory board won't even visit it. It just goes to show where the focus is in D.C. -- on the national government, not on the local residents and local history.
