Smoke in the tunnel
DUN DUN DUN... DUN DUN DA DUNNN...

For all of us who had to walk down to Farragut North, at least it wasn't raining...
(And for those of you who can't decipher my cameraphone picture, it's of firefighters taking the escalator down into the Dupont Circle station. If it was really important, they'd have been at least walking down the escalator, like I do every morning.)

One of my co-workers just arrived: she had to walk from Union Station (we work in DuPont), because to get a cab there was a 55-minute wait.

I should have told my roommate to take the conductor's announcement that passengers could switch from the inbound Red to the inbound Green at Ft. Totten as a firm recommendation.
