i saw my first two cicadas at 1:30 last night. maybe the moonlight contributed to this, but it was like something out of a horror movie. slimy, in a pod... i shudder just thinking of them.

Saw two cicada nymphs on my doorstep last night. Saw a dead adult and a couple of squashed nymphs on my way to Silver Spring station, where the escalator that normally goes up is fenced off. None of the steps are gone and there is absolutely no sign of an explanation, estimated re-opening date, etc. Ugggg...
