¿QUEstival?

So even though 99.1 has gone from "siempre la Jane's Addiction" to "siempre la fiesta," there will be a HFStival? I don't get it. Shouldn't they call it something else, like "Dyingformatstival" or "Keptalivebyourreputationstival?"

What I especially like about that article is the use of "home-grown progressive" and "Good Charlotte" in the same sentence. Doesn't anyone remember what happened a few years ago with Damian and WRNR? HFS started to suck in (at latest) 95 and its suckiness grew with every new artist added to the playlist. Eminem? 311? Slipknot, for Christ's sake?

I really do feel like a station that starts out so good and ends up so bad is a travesty, and that it was a really good idea to finally trash it. I gave up on it years ago.

If you find yourself really wanting some progressive music radio, try wvum.org, U Miami's station. It's one of the best things Miami has going for it.

They really went after those angsty teens like nobody's business, at the cost of us twentysomethings. Me personally, I like KEXP in Seattle, if only because they're willing to play alt-folk right up againt fugazi and rap and they don't have the sort of constant technical annoyances and dead air of real college radio.
