Miami Beach update
No, I don't like the vacant, inconsiderate people that fill the streets. I don't understand how so many new condos can be going up while the completed ones still look mostly empty. I don't think any mixed drink should cost $10 or more unless it comes in a bucket or something the size of a bucket.
I couldn't move down here -- I'm too high-strung.
But man, there is nothing better than noticing how hot it is outside and then going east three blocks to jump in the ocean.
UPDATE: MT is being all fussy and webmaster A.G. is being all in Asia. I'm working on it.

You have the biggest generation going through the process of retiring. Why do you think all these condo's were built in the first place. All these people are cashing out of there houses and moving into condo's to florida, New Mex, Arizona, Georgia, Tenn, South Cackalaka and Neveda. Trust me, in 5-10 years they will be filled.

I lived in Miami from 1966 to 1980 and then again from 1985 to 1988 until I beat it out of there for good. I'll explain why there is plenty of construction -- whether homes, condos or office space -- even though lots of the existing units remain empty.
In the rest of America, the construction industry is mainly concerned with building things for people to buy. However, in Miami, the construction industry's main focus is laundering money. You see, the tradesmen are paid in cash and you can buy the materials with cash. It's perfect for laundering cash, be it from the illegal drug trade, numbers rackets in the Northeast or anything else that might bring the feds down on ya.
If you can sell the units later, that's gravy. But the real profit comes on the commission on laundering dough.
