Rainy day feeling
Things I'm dissapointed about this morning:
1. The fact that Borf is from tony Great Falls, Va. and isn't some sort of urban avenger living as a squatter in a Warhol-style factory setting. Growing up in New York in the heyday of REVS and COST, I just expected more.
2. I paid about $2.50 for gas this morning. What are we, Germans?
3. Myself, for punking out on a chance to go to Nation last night, fulfilling one of my goals for the month (a progress report on that is on its way).

i know. poor kid is from GF, goes to langley, (only the richest school in the galaxy), and then gets caught complaining about "boojy" cosi. I almost feel sorry for him, because: pot, it's kettle, & you're black.

The G. (above) captured my thoughts exactly. Poor little douchebag. I am surprised the Larouchies didn't pick this guy up.
I am even more suprised the Post gave this clown 2 pages for which to peddle his dogma. What I took away: At 18, you don't know anything.

Feh. He's just a kid. Cut him a little slack. Yeah, he's the kind of blindly anti-globo alternateen that makes the progressive movement look bad, but I'm sure that he'll end up becoming more educated about things as he gets older. At least his heart seems to be more or less in the right place.
It *is* ridiculous the amount of coverage he got in the post, though. He's no Cool "Disco" Dan.

no, really, i kind of DO feel sorry for him. I mean, he's 18, and wants to, I dunno, be angry at something. probably because he's 18. It must be hard to get taken seriously.
annoying, sure, and too much press - but i'll kind of miss the little scamp, in an odd way.

So, I got an email from someone in NYC today (friend of a friend) who said she knows COST through a friend (cue "it's a small world after all"). For all of you non-New Yorkers, here's some info:

Oh, Germans are paying 1.28 euro/liter for regular, or $5.80/gallon. It was 1.15 euro not too long ago, back when the euro was much stronger against the dollar. The price, in dollars, is fairly constant, due to the extremely high fuel excise tax.
Of course, none of this affects me personally, as I get US military gas rations, which are set at $2.40/gallon for midgrade this month.
I suspect it's going up next month, though.
